Types of Implant Teeth:

There are two types of replacement teeth that use implants:

  • Permanent Teeth
  • Removable Teeth

If you are losing your teeth, you need to make an important decision:

  • Do you want permanent teeth.....or removable teeth?
  • To make this decision, you need to understand how these two types of teeth are different

Permanent Teeth:

  • professional term:  Implant Bridge
  • permanently connected to the implants
  • do not move in your mouth when you eat and speak
  • clean them just like natural teeth
  • can only be removed by a dentist.....if the bridge
needs to be cleaned or repaired

Removable teeth:

  • professional term:  Over-denture
  • snap onto the implants with small clips
  • moves in your mouth like a denture, only less
  • must remove the teeth to clean them
  • must be removed at bedtime

Upper Overdenture

Blue "clips" snap onto the implants
to reduce the movement of the denture

Lower Overdenture
